Inazuma Eleven Strikers GO 2013 is like a football version of Need For Speed, and that’s just fine by us. You play as Arion, the second team captain of Raimon Soccer Club in Japan’s Inazuma Eleven series from the beginning. The story appears to have come to it’s conclusion, and now it’s time to see what happens to the rest of the cast. With it being a few years after the series has ended, I wasn’t going to expect it to have kept up with modern standard graphics and animation. Being the go-kart racer style and being the second-generation soccer game in the series, that wouldn’t make sense.
Inazuma Eleven GO 2013 is the first soccer game in the Inazuma Eleven series, and for a second-gen soccer game it looks surprisingly good. Being the sequel to the first-gen game Inazuma Eleven, the cast and setting has stayed the same, but the gameplay has been updated and improved. Being the sequel to the first soccer game in the series, it almost feels like they updated the game for a second season instead of being a sequel. There’s a surprising amount of options too, like being able to change your formation and alter the pace and difficulty of the game.
The problem with Inazuma Eleven GO 2013 is that the game ends up being a hybrid of the soccer simulation experience and the arcade. The best thing about the original Striker is that it's a blend of both.
If you enjoyed the original Striker, you'll feel right at home with Inazuma Eleven GO 2013. Aside from the visuals, the gameplay is identical, except it features some major changes: now you can customize your striker, new weapons have been added, and some features have been tweaked.
